HANGOVER KILLER
A VICIOUS DOSE
OF ELECTROLYTES, ANTIOXIDANTS,
and AMINOS

Obviously, the best hangover killer is drinking in moderation. But in case you overindulge, we’ve assembled what we believe is the best combo of super nutrients to help soothe you the morning after.
Potassium – 1200mg
Alcohol depletes potassium. Big time. And that's bad. Potassium is a vital electrolyte (a mineral that conducts electricity when dissolved in water). It helps regulate nerve and muscle function, support healthy heart rhythm, modulate blood ph, and support cellular metabolism (energy production).
The problem is that a lot of other products that are supposed to be "electrolyte" drinks actually skimp on potassium. Hangover Killer's 1200mg dose of potassium blows away the alleged “hydration” drinks.
-
Gatorade (the big 20oz bottle) is only 75mg of potassium
-
Gatorade Fit Healthy Real Hydration (their enhanced hydration drink) has only 60mg of potassium
-
Hoist 16oz – 260mg of potassium
-
These are better, but still not enough:
-
Prime 16oz - 700mg of potassium
-
Body Armor 16oz - 680mg of potassium
-
Cysteine and Glutathione in the important 3:1 ratio
See article below for the data supporting this ratio.
L-Cysteine – 210mg
Cysteine breaks down acetaldehyde, a toxin that's a key culprit in causing hangovers.
Glutathione – 70mg
This tripeptide antioxidant can help break down free radicals, regenerate vitamins C and E, transport mercury out of the brain, reduce acetaldehyde levels in the blood, and decrease inflammation.
L-Ornithine - 500mg
L-Ornithine does two very interesting things. The first is a short term benefit, a reduction in cortisol, which can decrease the detrimental impact of a stressful day after a night of drinking. The second is a long term benefit: Ornithine reduces blood ammonia levels, which increase after significant drinking and can result in a reduction in brain function. Ornithine is also known to assist in detoxifying the liver.
Natural Caffeine (from the green tea leaf) - 50mg
When it comes to caffeine, you don't want so much that you crash afterwards (which only makes you feel more spent, when you have a hangover). But you do want some, because caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, which means it can help reduce the size of blood vessels in your head (this can assist with “pounding head” syndrome). And green tea is especially helpful because it is a natural anti-inflammatory agent and can help detox the body.
Zinc - 10mg
"Zinc deficiency can hinder the effectiveness of hepatic (liver) enzymes that break down alcohol." Zinc helps your body metabolize alcohol.
